I also made some significant progress with Termbox 2 bindings for #mruby. This is mostly for fun.
All in all, this makes is pretty productive weekend, especially as for my recent standards.
Quick update on the #mruby front:
Figuring out how to make errors in the Ruby code visible and producing correct exit code was actually quite easy. And we can even get the full trace if we want.
I published second article about #mruby. This time I look into gems (or rather mrbgems), especially into a bit non-trivial way to use them. Includes a guide to build a very simple standalone CLI app with SQLite database.
@serge Ah, yes. I see that these have been discussed already. PyInfra does look promising.
I'm a huge fan of #Clojure, so "dad" looks pretty interesting https://github.com/liquidz/dad.

There's consfigurator if you like #CommonLisp: https://github.com/spwhitton/consfigurator/
So, we have options!
It's Taylor's third anniversary! It's crazy to think I've been working on this little game engine for that long now.
I've only managed to make a few games with it, but I've been surprised at how nice it is to make games using Ruby.
I really think I'm building a great tool that can compete. With the refactor I'm doing now it's starting to feel like it's really mine and not just gluing together libraries.

I got #mruby running on Nintendo Wii This is my old game from 2019 ported from Dreamcast: https://vimeo.com/876291806
@gamingonlinux I'm the developer behind Taylor an #mruby based game engine that supports #linux #windows #osx #html and soon #android I develop on Linux and believe it should "just work" on a #SteamDeck but don't know anyone who has one to try it with.

Figured I'd post my first toot on this instance!
I'm an #indiedev who also works full time as a software developer. My main passion project at the moment is Taylor, a small game engine that's powered by #ruby (actually #mruby). You can check it out at https://taylormadetech.dev
I love #gamedev, #webdev, and pretty much all things programming and you can check out all the games I've built at https://hellrok.itch.io/

I guess I should do #followfriday
Follow @watzon who has been slowly porting ruby libraries over to Crystal and writing new Crystal libraries.
Follow @presidentbeef who recently managed to get mrubyc onto the Flipper Zero (a RF hacking swissarmy knife gadget).
Follow @timriley and @solnic who have recently released Hanami 2.0 and are now working on 2.1.
Follow @k0kubun who's working on improving CRuby's new YJIT.
