Working to deGoogle and deApple myself by the end of the year. Mostly involves buying a Fairphone running Murena's /e/OS, building a Linux desktop machine, and replacing apps/services, but the exercise of mapping all of this out alone is already proving to be fun, enlightening, and liberating.

I've been teaching "Introduction to #Mobile Development" for 4th-semester students over the last years.
I've used #Android and #Java but got quite disillusioned with the Android development ecosystem (to call it a moving target would be a bit of an understatement).
So this year I tried out #Flutter, but that seems to have a rather steep learning curve for relatively inexperienced students... So off the top of your head(s), what would you recommend for this kind of course?

Overall so far it looks really good...

Installing the open and secure #DeltaChat (@delta) messenger from #the #fdroid store and setting it up as second device for my identity took me about 2min thanks to the #Android compatibility.
So I would say the first test was successful, even though the list of native #SailfishOS apps of course is quite limited at the moment.
