Damian C. Rossney
Ever since seeing Eileen Uchitelle's RailsWorld 2024 talk, I've struggled with the feeling that discussions of modularity are hampered by a lack of consensus on basic terms.

I wrote a few articles to help sort out my thoughts. Bradley Schaefer
On a constructive note, if you're stuck on #Rails:

The easiest way I've found to run a Rails app that does not need a database is to set the database to an in-memory SQLite database. Rails expects a DB, so give it to them.

In your Gemfile:

```
gem "sqlite3"
```

In your database.yml:

```
production
adapter: sqlite3
database: ":memory:"
pool: 5
timeout: 5000
```

Not sure if you even need the pool/timeout, but I'm not golfing this here.

James Smith 💾
I have *no* time to do this, but serious question, who would actually be up for using or helping with a community-driven hard fork of #Rails?
