Sitting at my #Windows PC, I've been thinking about what my kid asked me recently - if I had #Apple's Messages, Notes and Reminders all perfectly integrated into individual client apps on Windows, would I still want to use the #Mac? I find myself right now wanting to send a couple of text messages to friends and not being able to without physically typing them on the phone. The Messages app is SO convenient. Do I buy a cheap #Macbook JUST for that functionality in this room?! HMM.

Du coup, j'ai Yosemite et Monterey avec choix de la version de MacOS au démarrage.
iLife et iWork, plus les jeux fonctionnels sur Yosemite, et un MacOS moderne avec Monterey (officiellement pas supporté par ce Mac).

I got this #MacBook "Pro" from 2014 with a 4-core #Intel U processor... and this #Lenovo Yoga 13 from 2013 with a 4 core Intel U processor.
The Lenovo beats the "pro" laptop performance wise, hands down, and it was a cheaper model.
"Resale value" indeed.
Maybe I need to reset the SMC and clean out the fans. Let's see how it goes.

MacBook Late 2007, bianco, schermo da 13.3" 1280 x 800 px, tastiera con layout US, CPU Intel Core 2 Duo da 2.0 o 2.2 GHz, RAM probabilmente 4GB, alimentatore 60W MagSafe, lettore di DVD, privo di SSD (ci va un SSD/HDD da 2.5"), privo di batteria (ma funzionante con il cavo di alimentazione). Non lo uso da anni. Preferisco regalarlo piuttosto che buttarlo. Ho a disposizione il service manual ufficiale di Apple (329 pagine) + un manuale di Powerbook Medic. Ritiro a mano a Roma gratuitamente o spedito al costo di € 5 + spedizione.

Dear Fediverse, I need your help: I am using a #Mac 10.11.6 using El Capitan (latest version usable) and 6 hours ago, #Firefox disabled all my extensions, with no way to retrieve them. I am unable to install the ESR version because my #Macbook is too old, and it seems no way of overriding this #FF decision? So basically byebye #adblockers, #repairability etc

Any way to manually override? The config explanation seems deliberately confusing
