Well done, #apple ! Some bright spark forgot to whitelist ~/Music/Audio Music Apps/Project Templates, and now I am unable to save any changes to my #LogicPro templates. I've been com.apple.macl'ed.

M4 #Macbook pro, Sequoia 15.3.2.

com.apple.macl summary:

Automatic Addition: macOS automatically adds e.g. when the Open dialog is used

Undeletable Nature: Attempts to remove the attribute typically result in it being immediately restored by the system's sandbox mechanism

#LogicPro question? I did a bad thing & went rootin’ around my project folder, deleted all the failed tracks so now it’s only the ones I’m really using in my project. But when I open the project now it’s giving me an alert for missing files, even tho they’re no longer even on the timeline. How do I tell it to fuck off with that? I tried “clean up” but that did nothing. Jeff is on a phone call or I’d be picking his brain! Maybe @Devils_Rancher knows? It’s not a real hangup, just an irritation.

For guitar-based data, we needed to tackle mainly the abundant short notes – data noise occurring likely as a result of imperfect onboard #midi processing.

We managed to fix this with Midi transform functions in #LogicPro.

Accordion was already giving us usable data, so we only worked on separating the midi channels for trebles and basis.

(Kudos to Šimon Libřický, our Logic Pro Expert!)

Next, I’m going to dive deep into my virtual studio (Reason 12) for several hours.

I have multiple instrumental progressive synth tracks that need to get out. Some melodies are still taking shape, some are already done. The feeling, soundscapes, and vision are already clear.

While I’m immersed, could you help me out with information?

I’d like to *release music here on Fedi* for the first time, right from the beginning:

1. What’s the best approach?
2. Where should I create an artist profile to make it enjoyable to follow?
3. Which instance should I choose?
4. What else should I consider?
5. Should I distribute it to commercial platforms as well? Or no? Why?

Any help would be appreciated, I'll get back to you when I'm back from the zone.

Starting to edit a podcast using the Magic Keyboard, is a lot better but still can’t imagine a reason for Apple not to include the same keyboard shortcuts across Mac and iPad on Logic Pro. Split at playhead and Select All following are my most used but no way to do it with KB. #logicpro

Using Mac iPad or IPhone, how might I drop a marker in realtime as I listen to or record a track?

I see how you can set arrangement markers or sections after the fact while mixing or editing, but I’m interested in a workflow that allows me to note an area as I’m listening or recording to come back to, attend to, later.

Something simple as a tap or keypress. I thought maybe another track just tapping a mic into that track could work.

Continued thread

The latest #LogicPro I had was version 7.3.2, but that stopped working with some upgrade of my 2011 iMac, possibly High Sierra.
Now I could either try to run a VM on that iMac with an older macOS version and run Logic Pro 7 there, or try to get hold of the last boxed version of Logic Express and hope that it can open older projects, or just accept that those projects have been lost. For most stuff, I have stereo mixdowns at least.
