I've had my share of "computer nightmares", more so with my very first computer (which was a piece of junk anyway). What about you? https://mindsconnected.tech/index.php?showtopic=83&view=getnewpost #computing #computers #hardware #software #windows #macos #linux #mobile #android #ios #ipados #problems #error #nightmare #stress #trauma #tech

@brucelawson Sigh. This is going to make firing up a Windows VM for browser testing even more tedious.
It's bad enough that it's essentially impossible to test Safari in a VM in Linux without giving macOS a separate graphics card and monitor.
Thank you very, very much to @timac! His `vpnutil` command line utility for #macOS really helped me! See…

For years, I used a script to call `scutil` to control my #VPN connection. Recently, it stopped working. It shows signs of using IKEv2 services mentioned in his blog…

Maybe my employer changed our services over to IKEv2 recently.
I replaced calls to `scutil --nc` in my script with `vpnutil` and all is now good again!

I’m testing several browsers on macOS. Which one do you use and why?
I think I’ll use Orion full time.
TIL (the hard way) that #macos #sequoia doesn’t work on wired networks unless you turn off “limit IP address tracking” in the network settings.
How long has sequoia been out? And it still has facepalmish networking bugs like this?

Perfect if you're into streaming, podcasting, or music production. Game changer!

Operating System Emulationen of historical Mac OS, Mac OS X or NeXTStep from the 1980s, 1990s, early 2000s, or your own custom versions of this systems, as a Webapp in your Browser:
Tweaked this a little so instead of displaying the final result it will:
1.Still copy it to clipboard just in case
2. Create a notes folder Weekly Report if it’s not there yet
3. Create a new note with today’s date as a title and put all your events there.
Tried it today - soooo much better than doing all that manually.
P.S.: for quite some time I struggled to find real use cases for #appleshortcuts but I guess it finally starts to dawn on me
A great blog post summarizing the various options you have to cross compile code on Swift.
