When I revisit IRC (I was there a few days ago, all was calm) it'll not be for cookies 🙂

In the meantime, for anyone who wants something technically tasty, you're warmly invited to join me in BSD Cafe chat, where I am baking:

― a FreeBSD-ports repo-specific upgrade that triggers removal of base packages, including vital FreeBSD-runtime.

@OpenComputeDesign same with many other things.

Personally I'm so pissed off amidst the ongoing #Enshittification that I really need to get the #NUCbook off the ground before my #X230tablet dies.

The new #deno spot is an absolute masterpiece! 😂🤣

I didn’t see that coming, and it made me laugh so hard. 🤣
Kudos to everyone involved!

I’d be surprised if it doesn’t accelerate the Deno hype train to supersonic speed.

It also reminds me of some other commercial or music video or in-game sequence but I can’t figure out what it was. If someone has an idea, please let me know. 🤓

@alvinashcraft

> It’s 2024, and somehow, there is still a misconception that .NET cannot be used to build .NET UIs for Linux.

Unfortunately I'm afraid that those misconceptions are not only related to desktop UI but also - and somehow more deeply and more fundamentally - to #web UI and even to web backends because ultimately there are misconceptions against #dotnet #runtime itself and dotnet #languages. Even though Microsoft has changed and even when and where #Azure has been adopted.

@deadblackclover I wrote some #forth back in the day (first on the #JupiterAce when I didn't really get it, and then for my first paid gig after uni). However while the tiny #runtime and in-place development was nice it was still fairly low frills compared to the #elisp I'm used to now. I seem to recall I had to do a lot of manual tracking of the stack - perhaps later forths had better plumbing for that?
