Important note for #blind users!
#CRDroid doesn't contain #gapps, there's no Talk Back available.
You have to download it manually and put it to your phone via recovery.
Also you'll need a TTS engine and this is kinda problem because I know no TTS which work out of the box without prior network access.
#Espeak needs internet to download language data on first launch;
#RHVoice needs internet for every new voice;
#Vocalizer is paid and needs the same;

The only option at least for Russian people is to download #FonTTS (modern implementation of #NewFon) and use it.
If you know totally offline TTS synthesizers for other languages, please share.

Also even if you put Talk Back and TTS via recovery they won't start via volume buttons.
You have to enable usb debugging via recovery and then, on welcome screen, via adb, enable Talk Back and set default TTS for speech output.

After that you're good to go as an usual user.

Allerdings können insbesondere Nutzer von freien Systemen kaumPasskeys nutzen, weil sie dort in der Regel noch nicht implementiert sind. #KeePassXC soll Unterstützung bekommen, #BitWarden hat da auch schon was am Start, aber z.B. bei Linux ohne #GApps sieht es noch schlecht aus. @digitalcourage

@eff personally, I'd still not use any #centralized #SingleVendor & #SingleProvider messenger that falls under #CloudAct (thus can't comply with #GDPR per-se) and violates the basic principle of avoiding to store any unnecessary data (as per #BDSG)...

Not to mention there's no option to exercise #SelfCustody on @signalapp or actually do #SelfHosting nor are there #Clients for #CLI / #TUI nor #GAPPS-free #Android.

Also none of their Software is reproducible code!!!

At beginning of the year I bought a #Pixel6A and I flashed it with #GrapheneOS (of course without #GApps), so for now not, but I'll keep the #VollaPhones as an open option for future sight.

The biggest asshole move are then apps that are not delivered via @fdroid and that are purposefully designed to brick on non-#GAPPS -Android like #Anbox...

@niavy De mon expérience, les seules applications qui posent souci avec /e/ (ou #LineageOS) sont celles qui nécessitent #GooglePlay pour des paiements internes à l'application (genre #Pay2Win), en l'absence des services #Gapps installés. La seule autre qui déconne c'est la #eCPS.

Le reste fonctionne à l'identique (tu peux les installer via #Aurora ou #AppLounge pour /e/). Pour les applications de banques, il faut veiller à ne pas être root (ou à le masquer via le plugin #MagiskHide de #Magisk).
