I have remarked (subjective personal personal observation in France) that traffic lights tend to increase dangerous driving behaviours, amongst them particularly:

- dangerous bicycles overpasses before traffic light,
- speeding when a green light is seen far in distance or yellow/orange light is showing.

To the contrary, temporary disabled traffic lights or blinking yellow/orange lights with priority to the vehicles that are coming from the right tend to slow down the traffic.

If there was an objective study, that would be interesting.

i wanna shake the hand of the person that made the #HAWK T #trafficlights for #crosswalks for giving it their best shot at trying something new. i felt like i read the news about them, felt like i understood it, & when i actually encountered it had no fucking clue #wtaf to do. theres a small sign next to them so thats helpful but i have to read 4 lines with big red lights flashing at me. worst #design ever, least intuitive thing Ive ever seen. i still dont get it after reading the wiki
