I created a Mastodon "how to" page on our family Wordpress site: txcolliers.net/wordpress/masto It's targeted toward our family and friends who may or may not have heard of Mastodon, but don't have any idea of how to get started. (And it was an opportunity to learn how to embed a feed in a Wordpress page!)

#GettingStarted with #GameDev:

Make some minigames: Make the reload bar from Gears of War, a 1D version of pong, golf swing meter, the attack timing from Ikenfell, etc. These are really simple small mechanics that still have an element of fun: the minimal game.

Get a blue circle on screen. Make it move toward a green circle and press a button to stop it when they overlap. Score the player on timing.

It's not necessarily easy, but it's minimal enough that you can succeed and gain confidence.

Getting lots of really good suggestions and approaches for how to steer someone who is interested in getting licensed when it comes to gear.

It feels like there is a flow chart coming. That first fork in the road: HF or Nah? is pretty defining for the gear, license requirements, etc.

Lots of food for thought.
