@awkravchuk
Hey, I didn't manage to install your game because openbsd's current allegro port is still 4.2. Could we talk about doing something like a formal specification for a Common Lisp Software Game Console in the future.

I get through some parts of the #quicklisp build at least!

#logosLispLegend #springlispgamejam2024 #video #lispGames #McCLIM
five relaxing minutes. The game just werkz.
i e #scrlogos from lispy-gopher-show.itch.io/logo
working immediately after the last video basically as the install described.

I did find that I had to explicitly load McCLIM, because the scrlogos system only drags in the front end not the backend. Arguably you might be running lispworks or allegro's backends instead. This was the reason.

Love you all

@mapcar I couldn't find it quickly. The academic space is a garbage SEO wash of each-dumber-than-the-last university LLM product pitches.

It wasn't this: usenix.org/system/files/sec23f but this is where I would spider out from but I don't have time atm.

I'm a little busy today ( #springlispgamejam2024 )

The one I remember was like this (and it must have been expensive!): Programmers with and without AI Code assistants were given routine cryptographic work. It had the results I indicated before.

#sbcl #lisp #commonLisp #asdf #executable #gui #build #tutorial #clim #mcclim #example I wrote for @theruran a while ago.

You could basically submit this with literally any modification as a game for the #springlispgamejam2024 and it will be pretty similar to mine. I think it's a great approach to featureful interactive user interfaces for games.

@WetHat
Mm. I read over it.
@sjl
Since it's #springlispgamejam2024 this is wrong:
"
Lisp doesn't have any engine as full-featured as Unity, but several people are currently working on making 3D game engines.
"
Naughty Dog's scheme game engines written in CL, eg.

This touches on the fundamental problem: People have no idea what lisp software is out there. The article overemphasises the trivial- package stuff, which resembles poppy languages. Lisp sw are normally big systems with new languages
