I don’t know where to start.

The depressing commitment to further embed car reliance, high emissions and traffication?

The obvious contradiction in saying “the decision on the funding model has not been made yet, but the tunnel itself and the utility works would be publicly funded, alongside significant private sector finance”?

The MP from the car-worshipping anti-nature party being against it(!)?

The evident truth spoken by Chris Todd from TAN, that has failed to inform the decision?

Maybe I should just go back to bed.

A graphic of the Lower Thames Crossing, which shows multiple lanes of traffic in both directions going into a tunnel beneath the River Thames. The road is surrounded by fields either side of the water.
BBC NewsLower Thames Crossing plan for Essex and Kent is approvedThe 14-mile (22.5km) road will link the A2 and M2 in Kent with the A13 and M25 in Essex.

Important milestone for my timecode gizmo: this is the first successful syncing using a cell phone and the Teensy board implementing an USB audio device, plugged as an external mic into the USB-C port. This is important as I'm pivoting my project toward youtubers rather than indy cinematographers who are already using overpriced and counter intuitive SMPTE LTC generators in their workflow 😏

@subjacentish Showing how both Cdn Conservatives and Liberals are corporate-captured in all areas. And while they often show photos of agricultural workers, the Personal Care Workers make up a significant amount and of course many Ontario Cons have investments in private agencies sucking up public money for profit in the LTC business. Race to the bottom, indeed.

It's always great to learn and discuss new #research topics and methods. 🤩 🤓 🤩 This time we discussed medical indicators in nursing homes, what participation means in #LTC, how we can (or can't) unpick the variance of supply and demand in the patient-to-nurse ratio and finally readmissions of chronic #pediatric patients. Thanks all for joining and contributing to the QUASAR Research colloquium on Friday! #nursing #HSR

I wonder if anyone has stories about elder relatives who went to a nicer LTC/retirement place -- then outlived the funds they had saved to pay for them? Some places run $5-$8k or so a month (especially if they need services like memory care, etc.). Meaning some people's life savings might run out after just a few years. Does that happen? What happens to these people then?

At the end of the fall/winter 2023-24 season, even with clear evidence to the contrary, the Ontario government told public health units that COVID was seasonal and they could stop reporting COVID outbreaks when they stopped reporting flu and RSV numbers.

Now that "respiratory virus season" is starting again, we should (in theory) see an increase in the number of PHUs publicly reporting outbreaks.
