I'm absolutely blown away by #IntelliJ's new #AI feature, and it fits right in with my "Let AI do the boring stuff so I can do the fun stuff" approach to it.

Stop. Forcing. AI. On. People.

In this kind of situation, there should be a "No" button. I guess closing the popup using the X instead should be interpreted as not agreeing to the terms of service?

I just tried #IntelliJ's "merge with #ai" feature. It looked pretty good until I saw that it added a variable that didn't exist in either of the two files it was comparing...

Never change a running system. In der Arbeit auf Ubuntu 24.10 upgegraded und was ist los: Intellij spingt rum und faengt an random rumzuhaengen. Im now using @rider for 6 months or so for C# after using #intellij for over 10 years.

I have to say, it’s weird. There are subtle things that just work differently than in IntelliJ for no apparent reason which drives me crazy. E.g. why can’t I run all tests in a file by right-clicking the tab?

But my biggest problem is, that it keeps freezing with beach ball on my Mac. Like 5 times a day and I have to force kill the app.

This never happened in IntelliJ a single time.

So far I have asked the AI Assistant in IntelliJ questions about AWS DMS and Secrets Manager and it got it wrong every time.

@jetbrains has a really bad habit of not documenting their APIs so even in their own IDE, most of the time, when I bring up quick documentation it's nothing but the method signature. I wonder if they assigned `CTRL-Q` to it just so people would balk at habituating a shortcut that usually would quit. In my keymap quick doc is F1.
