Maps in the Wild: Tattoo Projection: Just van den Broecke met the owner of a bar in Prizren, Kosovo during #FOSS4G2023. Run by a couple: she from Kosovo, he from Japan, with world-map tatoo. Very last rakia there. Looks like he’s been waiting for FOSS4G for someone to tell him what projection he had on his arm!

Organized by OSGeo and with more than 15 years of experience, this international anual gathering of location enthusiasts is the largest global gathering for geospatial software. FOSS4G brings together developers, users, decision-makers and observers from a broad spectrum of organizations and fields of operation. Through six days of workshops, presentations, discussions, and cooperation, FOSS4G participants create effective and relevant geospatial products, standards, and protocols. The 2021 edition was planned to take place in Buenos Aires (Argentina). Due to the pandemic it is online. It focuses on South America with the close collaboration of the GeoLibres Association in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
