Now this is a very cool resource - Historic England's Inclusive Heritage programme has a section called "A History of Disability: from 1050 to the Present Day" looking at how disability has always been integral to the built environment. Links to podcasts, content also available through BSL.

I'm in the middle of prepping for the next community workshop we're holding for the #Bywgraffiadur as part of our Diversity Project. While we're currently privileging the collection of Black, Asian and minority ethnic biographies, we're also, among others, collecting information related to #DisabilityHistory. This is how I stumbled across this finger spelling alphabet published in the second annual report of #Wales's first #deaf school in #Aberystwyth. It is really interesting to see the formalised use of #BSL signs from almost 200 years ago along some older signs for letters that are no longer in use these days.
