I think we really need to face the fact that we don't live in a functioning #democracy and never really have to varying degrees. Instead of saying "Nuh uh! Don't make George Washington cry!" Either commit yourself to making us the shining light on the hill we should be or be honest and you're cool with a comforting lie for your benefit at the expense of everyone else.
