These compositions are a mixture of #photos and #scans of #BookPages, together with digitally created #textures. I take several images and then combine them – creating new images by blending a new composition with original images. A pattern of echoing elements then reoccur to produce a sequence that appears to go through #transformation. Note: Originally posted on my blog on March 17, 2016, it includes a #Mastodon related#Illustration in one of the compositions. I must have been having a premonition.

Eventually, with all the experiments with #scanned #textures, #texturedtext, and #collageart the penny dropped. My experiments with #deconstructedtext actually were part of an #art genre, #asemicwriting. As it happens, my daughter is a #Downs person. She has #communicationdifficulties, but one of the things she enjoys doing is writing-printing out word lists, sentences , and a variety of #texts. She produces so much, I incorporated them in the #scanned #collages. #asemicart
The experiments in #scanned #textures and #texturedtext in turn to blending my #photographs of #flowers. I called these #flowergrams. Some of these became a mix with #junkmail #collage scans. The junk mail #collageart were dubbed #junkmailabstracts. #asemicart #collage #art
My experiments with #scanned #textures eventually led to what I called #texturedtext, and #collage compositions. Back in 2013, I had not realized I was entering into the #Art genre called #asemicwriting. #asemicart #collageart #scanography #digitalart
