One of my favourite writers is Thomas Rosenboom. Although he writes in Dutch, his choice of words, often archaic and sometimes made up, creates a unique language that stands completely on its own. I relish every word of it. On top of that, his books are irresistible to me because of his subtle (dark) humour and fine psychological insight.

In the “Portraits of writers” category, I decided to draw Thomas Rosenboom today. I wanted to create a caricature without making the face appear overly exaggerated. Well, it is exaggerated, but that makes Rosenboom all the more recognisable. To me, this is him.

Ouah je suis vidé j'ai accompagné les élèves en sortie de géologie sur le site du barrage de Malpasset, c'était sportif. Sept heures dehors au soleil avec trente gamins qui sont jamais sortis de la ville c’est une expérience.
Mais entre deux moments où je les empêchais d'essayer d'attraper/écraser/tripoter des araignées/des grenouilles/des chèvres, j'ai pu faire quelques croquis de terrain !

I found a ballpoint sketch concept I really love. It’s from my imagination combined with memory of a white Persian cat I had that was deaf, had one blue eye & one green eye, & broke every single piece of blue & white china I had on display.
I really like the feeling & composition, painted over with oil, and fine tuning the coloring. I like the simple shapes. This sketch is very small.

Feeling absolute ADHD although not diagnosed (the process started but it’s so cumbersome I’m not sure I’ll make it) overwhelmed with every aspect of my life but still trying to sort things up/out.
