I’ll be doing a monthly food stall at Launceston Night market for the foreseeable future. Just drinks. My hospo friends have singled me out as being the best auntie for this job. Now I don’t have to worry about going to the gym. It’s a lot of work carting drinks around! #hospitality #sideHustle

🌟 Hey everyone! I've been a bit quiet here lately—work's been a whirlwind, and I've got a side project keeping me busy on the side. 🚀

I’m really excited to share it with you soon, so stay tuned for some big updates! 💡

In the meantime, let's see how many of us here have a pet project outside of our main work! Take a vote in the poll below. 👇

❔ Do you have a passion project or side hustle?

Is Australia’s middle class falling behind? With inflation and skyrocketing house prices, financial stability feels out of reach for many Australians. Even households with six-figure incomes are struggling to pay rent or mortgages, let alone afford any luxuries. Some are postponing retirement or taking on extra work just to make ends meet.

'Regular full-time employment at a single job may seem like the natural way of things, but it is, in fact, a fairly recent phenomenon. Throughout European history before 1800, work took multiple forms and had varied meanings, motivations and outcomes. Making money was just a part of it, and often not a very important part.'

I have 20 years experience teaching theatre and public speaking in educational settings as well as individual coaching.

If you want to be a better speaker in general, or would like to get feedback on specific public speaking situations such as presentations or speeches, I would be happy to provide online coaching for reasonable and income-dependent fees.

I am super excited to share that we've hit an awesome milestone! A quarter of a million views on my YouTube channel! 😸🎉

In the last 3 months, the growth has been phenomenal, adding 100,000 views after taking 12 months to hit the first 150,000. 📈

Your support for my little side hustle is truly humbling. For all those that watch, comment, share and subscribe, I am eternally grateful to you all. 💚

You have all helped to make this endeavor of mine absolutely worth it and I am excited to continue sharing these Modern Workplace tips and tricks with you all.

Onwards and upwards to the next milestone! 💯

Well, I guess I have officially joined the 21st century Gig economy. A few months back I set up a Dasher account on Door Dash just to see how it worked.

On New Year's Eve, we were bored of the second run of the NYE TV show, so Tree and I went dashing mostly for the drive and did a couple deliveries. We had fun.

So I've been doing a few more this week when I had an hour or two to spare. It's an impressively efficient system considering how new it is to our area and the variety of restaurants that use it, even in my small town.

I've put in about 6.5hrs (mostly NY Day) and made an average of $CAD20/hr inc. tips. Not sure if it's going to be a solid thing, but I guess my foot is in the door.

If you're interested, let me know. Happy to answer questions about it. I've done tech consultant/help kind of work off and on for over 20 years and have had a business name associated with that for most of that time but it's never been more than the odd job here and there. That was kind of the 20th century version of the side hustle.

This app-based stuff is interesting.

So I intend to start my own Blog, and I haven't gotten to the stage of buying the blog subscription to start it, but I have been writing blog entries for when I am at that point. This way when the time comes, I will have a good deal of material to post. I intend to space out what I've written, only publishing twice a week. So far it has been a good exercise. I used to write a lot, and I've noticed that in the past few years my writing has slowed down considerably. That's not something I want for myself, so I'm switching up the gears, and getting back into the flow. Here's hoping I can make it something that garners me a reasonable income. Because not making any money isn't helping out the fam. I'm an independent coach, certified in fitness and nutrition, and even though I advertise twice a week, I've yet to land a single client. So this is my next attempt to garner some funds. Anything is better than nothing.

I've watched several videos on how to turn a blog into a marketable income making business, and I think I have the chops to be consistent with it. Who knows though.
