Если бы по "Полю чудес" снимали аниме, я бы предпочел, чтобы оно было выдержано в стиле гэг-манги (старые работы Акиры Ториямы в пример). И чтоб называлось оно Hoiru obu Fochun: Wandafirudou no Bouken (Wheel of Fortune: a Trip to Wonderfield)

Shower thought I had today: If you want to prevent your software from being used against your wishes by large companies or government agencies, it would probably be far more effective to call it something rude or politically charged rather than applying a dual license on a source available software. Like naming it the "DEI-LGBTQ-Cocksucker-Tiananmen-1989" v1.3.2-rc.1. I bet you wouldn't see that used much in the U.S., Russia, or China no matter how great the software is. Those that do use it still would probably honor the license. #showerthoughts #oss #opensource #licensing

I listened to Jon Stewart interview Michael Lewis about his new book the other day.

In the book, it extolls the amazing government workers who are currently demonized by the right wing media. It's yet another reason to be angry about DOGE and the cuts.

Then I saw this story about how they made these trading cards in Japan.

... and it occurred to me that someone should make a trading card game for all the government workers in the US. The "faceless bureaucrats" who do the thankless hard work and never get any real recognition. It might help humanize government workers to a public which apparently has no idea what government does.

I, for one, would love a Arthur A. Allen trading card.

I'm a bit fuzzy on what a good game mechanic would be in order to highlight things like engineering acumen or systems design. Guess I'll leave that to a game designer.

Prioritizing views about issues, over tribes (political, social, religious, or ideological) fosters critical thinking & progress. Tribal loyalty can create echo chambers, stifling debate & turning opposition into enemies rather than opportunities for growth. #showerthoughts

Okay:

Universal Basic Cybersecurity. *

For every organisation, the people through the government provide the means (not money but tools, knowledge and information) to have basic information security in place.

This as a response to the “Security Poverty Line” and the abysmal state of information security, especially (but certainly not exclusively) amongst the SMEs.

*) you can probably guess why I don’t pitch it as “Universal Basic Informationsecurity”. Also, just “Security” doesn’t work, because that is (rightly) used in the discourse around UBI. If it is confused with Universal Background Checks, that’s just a happy little coincidence.

Ninja steps, are known as gym/exercise equipment. But I read somewhere that it was a technique the ninjas used to walk in an arrhythmic fashion so as not to draw attention + mask their movement

In Revenge of Shinobi, the amazing Yuzo Koshiro made a BGM called Ninja Steps that feature loops that are sort of arrhythmic (asyncopathic?).

Took me 35 years to make that connection.
