Text from article: As I wrote about in February, GOP leadership has set its sights in recent months on disempowering conservative-coded women, especially. The state-level laws restricting reproductive rights disproportionately affect Republican-voting women. Proposals to restrict voting rights would disenfranchise married women more than single women, which would again do more harm to Republican women. And there's been a big push to take female leaders down a peg, with MAGA influencers now openly saying women shouldn't be in leadership. Johnson's tantrum is more of the same. Republican men really mean all this talk about strict gender roles, and women in their party are starting to pay a personal price.

WI's high turnout suggests that voters can grasp that courts/ #RuleOfLaw matters. It turns out families talk about more than the price of groceries. Dems shouldn’t shy away from raising issues of justice & fairness & indiv #rights.

One of the leading issues -was in the st SC contest 2 yrs ago, was #ReproductiveRights. Dems in WI hammered away at the theme that the R-backed cand -would ban abortion +ARG their SC could affect citizens’ access to HC.

@The_Icarian Our local pregnancy center has everyone fooled. They pretend to be a medical clinic (they are not) & they do ultrasounds to show clients the "baby". If mom is hesitant to continue the pregnancy, she's told she needs more ultrasounds, until she's past the point where she can decide to end her pregnancy. It's insidious. They offer the only free pregnancy tests around, so they're busy. And it looks like a clinic. Deceitful. #reproductiverights #abortion #USPols

The WSJ reported last week #RFKJr’s #HHS planned an immediate freeze of $27.5M in #FamilyPlanning grants for groups including #PlannedParenthood.

PPFA says >300 #health centers are in the #TitleX network & Title X-funded centers received >1.5M visits in 2023.

The loss of funding will mean that “cancers go undetected, access to #BirthControl is severely reduced, & the nation’s #STI crisis worsens,” said Alexis McGill Johnson, PPFA president.

A woman in #georgia was arrested for having a #miscarriage that was no fault of her own after disposing of the fetus in a dumpster.

Guess we are going back to biblical times in the #usa and #liberals saw this coming.

I literally cried.

Mar. 24—"Maine Gov. Janet Mills on Monday brushed off President Donald #Trump's weekend demand that she issue a 'full throated apology' for publicly challenging him during a White House event last month.

"The governor responded to Trump's social media post while at a public event in Bangor. But it was not an apology.

"Mills contested Trump's claims that he wants to protect women through his executive order barring #TransgenderAthletes from women's sports, pointing out that women in the United States and around the world will be hurt by his moves to eliminate #ForeignAid, attack #SocialSecurity and #Medicaid, and impose #tariffs that will spark #TradeWars and drive up consumer prices.

"'If the current occupant of the White House wants to protect women and girls, he should start by protecting the women and teenage girls who are suffering #miscarriages and dying because they can't get basic, life-saving health care in states across this country,' Mills said, according to the Bangor Daily News. 'If he truly cares about women and girls and people of this country, let's see the economic plan. Let's see the health care plan. Let's see the education plan.'

"Mills, who was in Bangor celebrating the purchase of a mobile home park by its residents under a new state law, added that 'if he cares about women and girls, he should talk about the little girls and boys and infants in #Sudan and other countries who are dying right now because he has cut off their supply of food and life-saving medicines.'"
