Actually got a MOT booked at a reasonable date by continually navigating on and off the booking page until one popped up. Seems cancellations go in randomly and are snapped up in seconds! Time and location are fairly unreasonable but I'll take what I can get.

* We call it St. Patrick's Day, St. Paddy's Day, Paddy's Day, or St. Pat's. We will look at you all weird-like if you say St. Patty's Day, Patty's Day, or (shudder) Patties' Day.
* St. Patrick was Welsh, not Irish.
* St. Patrick used the shamrock to describe the trinity. If it has four leaves then it's a lucky clover and not a shamrock, and so has nothing to do with Paddy's Day

my guess is that Sinn Fein voters are also protestants just so fucking tired of both flavour of unionism:

– the special, northern irish bible-bashing, orange-sashed religious shite

– the english variety consisting of posh english who think all irish are IRA, that ireland is a colony: those who gave you brexit, and still live in grand delusions in the ruins of a dead empire

interesting so far. good to see DUP going back, even if it's tiny.

some odd movements otherwise, but i'm guessing SDLP lost a bunch to Sinn Fein simply for strategic reasons. and some UUP-votes went to alliance. a pretty naff move, but at least it is putting some distance.

increase in extreme unionism, which is both scary and hilarious, considering the state of the Union and not-so-United Kingdom.
