I have always liked small, compact cameras, to carry in a pocket and be able to capture that moment that catches my attention, save it, freeze it in an image, and then, as time passes, look at it again and return to that fleeting moment that passed and was saved in an image, like this photo of a small hummingbird that I took on San Cristóbal Hill, in Santiago de Chile with a SONY DSC-WX350. This small hummingbird is the southernmost in America, a species native to Chile and Argentina.

It's true about being a rich kid BUT this is ultimately proportional to understanding things or the right thing that happens that once people get rich or comfortable they want for more peace after and equality with change of slave-driven, war-torn worlds full of wars from #supermarket to #superpower countries muscling their weight and currency of debt everywhere...

I think everyone wants that but depends how desperate you are for money to be able to say it or go into old ways #IntoTheWild to try reclaim the ways being 'obsolete' and made increasingly ilegal just to be / live different. Similar to #Sterilisation of #Natives etc... but even just enjoy ourselves in a small sense is less and less possible now or less part of life itself when we're obviously needing nature and that atmosphere often.

It's so normal that although he could have done this or that with the money he knew it was toilet paper or bad stuff overall (and still is).
He knew why we're being forced onto and into these things and it's not healthy/

People choose not to share the world and even sell it for extortion effectively stealing it from future (#debt and #loans do exactly that as people look like they prosper while everything is being emptied out and re-sold for more in future).
All this happens to a point nobody can buy a house and negative maths takes over = negative society as the numbers are too while people ad more schemes to fill the black holes of profit never-endingly.

But anyway respect your view and just saying that on the steps to knowledge, love, sharing or ANYTHING it's totally normal to want to rise about feudal landlord style life which has proven costly and meaningless... and at the end without understanding / adding intelligence (keeping people dumb / hiding things deliberately) this is a morality issue of life underneath it all.

Words like "society" (he mentions in the pub a lot) and "morality" we are still working on what this means... and 100% money is not it and even opposite from thinking (perhaps promotes unthinking), so not even close to being responsible and putting it in the hands of fools which relabel it as #politics rather than just money making #profit.

Think of banks and who funds both sides of war etc...

Anyway - thanks.

Norwegians may find some of my #political #shitposting on here a bit too much.

But make no mistake, #Norwegians are some decades behind the #US and #UK in regards to how deep down the spiral they've gotten.

Additionally #CRT is still a thing, the persecution and harm of #Natives is still a thing, authoritarian #PoliceBrutality is still a thing, manufactured debt traps is still a thing, etc, etc.

Make no mistake, we have our own spiral, and we're still spoiled and privileged, but still.

The US #army needed to end. In the 250 years of its existence, its only been the good guys for like 25 years. The rest of the time it was used for invasion and occupation for #corporate interests and gain and to slaughter #natives . 25% of the military budget is for the army and the other branches actually protect us, the army is just there as a temptation for the president to use. The #Navy and national guard are directly called for in the constitution while a standing army is strongly spoken out against by the founders.
There is no reasonable way that the US could ever be invaded from the outside by force, only through information wars and then self-implode into civil war.
We should fold the members of the army into the other branches ending our recruitment issues, replace contractors and army bases with tech, education, health and research hubs, and then sell off more of our army hardware to Europe where they CAN actually be invaded, but have been relying on us for too many decades. That 25% of the military budget could do so many things, include some reparations to the natives that army used to murder their ancestors and steal their land.

“It’s been over 100 years since a wild salmon last swam through this reach of the Klamath River,” said Damon Goodman, a regional director for the non-profit conservation group California Trout. “I am incredibly humbled to witness this moment and share this news, standing on the shoulders of decades of work by our Tribal partners, as the salmon return home.”

[Film] The #ApacheStronghold defending #sacred #OakFlat land from a #CopperMine

The Real News Network
May 21, 2024

"In the heart of the #Arizona high desert lies a battle for the soul of the land. The ancient, sacred grounds of #Apache #Native territory are under threat from a looming giant — a massive copper mine that promises riches for the locals, and a pathway to the so-called green transition. But, as is often the case, it comes at a cost.

"The #SanCarlosApache tribe calls it Chi’chil Bildagoteel; English speakers call it Oak Flat. It sits on a mountainous plateau within a 17.3-kilometer oasis in the #TontoNationalForest. #RioTinto and #BHP, two of the world’s biggest mining companies, have staked their claim here through a joint venture called #ResolutionCopper. For over 10 years they’ve been lobbying governments for the right to build a colossal mine that would cover roughly 7,000 acres of surface area, and extend more than a mile into the ground.

"The only thing that stands in their way is the #resistance of the Apache Stronghold, a nonprofit community organization of #Natives and non-Natives uniting to counter ongoing #colonization, defend holy sites and protect freedom of religion, which was created to protect Chi’chil Bildagoteel.

I tried #Youpon Holly #tea , the North American native caffeine producing plant used by the #natives for centuries but fell out of favor with white people because it was associated with being poor. Its not bad, just don't leave the tea in the water for too long. I don't know if you've had some kinds of green #tea and it has a "fishy" flavor of earthy to it. It has that rather strongly which isn't bad, but I can see this pairing well with a lot of other varieties of drinks. I added some uncle pappies sassafras tea concentrate (saffrinol removed) and they blended very well together. Its lighter than Yerba mate which is also an "ok" drink however because its lighter there is a lot of options to blend it with outher flavors and for people in the US it grows like a weed in the south and has basically no environmental impacts unlike coffee and tea which are energy land and water intensive.
