I wonder, are there any nice #Art #portfolio sites out there that people recommend for 2025?
#CaraApp / #Cara was on my radar for two years but wouldn't have fit some of my old art (they also felt like they were only looking for professionals back then) - with semi starting over they could be interesting tho.
@nillyrobot I agree Cara sounds to be a better place for the way you want to display your art. Give it a shot. They have stuff to protect your art from AI too
Did you know that Jingna Zhang, the Singaporean photographer/artist who famously won a court case against someone who plagiarised her work, has founded an anti-AI-scraping art and portfolio platform and social media called Cara?

I didn't! But I love that this is happening, and gaining attention. So if you're still on DeviantArt (the gen-AI art generator platform) it's time to move on

I've been on Cara for quite a while, but here's my profile again since more people are joining! Let's meet each other there.
I think I never shared this one here, right?

I'm still not sure what to do with instagram, but in the meanwhile, I'm starting to like Cara. I'll try to upload more there, like in the old days, when I liked to share my art without the stress of having to please an algorithm.

For those of you who are using the #caraapp MNR has a base there, we just released some info on The Dominant Ones project over there.

You can also follow Ili from @IliDraws there as well
Anybody had a good look at the Cara app? Is it hype, or is IG gonna tip over a cliff?
So I became a regular supporter for cara.app in the hopes it will slowly grow into a good place for my art friends, I suggest others do the same if you can.
My one friend Joobie's on there that you can find at @gunkpup if there's someone you want follow.
Seems like Cara doesn't share their user's content for AI training, but their app shares everything else with Microsoft and other partners. 30 attempts in less than 24 hours, and I only opened the app once that day...
These "savior platforms" always have something under their sleeve, especially when all just seems too good to be true.
What we have learned: People are always willing to switch one monster to another.
A social app for creatives, Cara grew from 40k to 650k users in a week because artists are fed up with Meta’s AI policies https://techcrunch.com/2024/06/06/a-social-app-for-creatives-cara-grew-from-40k-to-650k-users-in-a-week-because-artists-are-fed-up-with-metas-ai-policies/
I'd like to start posting the featured art from @blenderartists on Cara.app, but I can't find any API reference documentation to help me automate this. Does anyone know if this is possible? Retoot is appreciated!

I highly recommend you read and share with any artist you know the very interesting review of the Cara app by @davidrevoy
This new app sounded like a lot of hot air to me and his critic seems to give me reason, I quote: "it will be the same circus as in any other proprietary social media, the replica of the same famous profiles, the same source of power, the same flawed rules and my prediction: the same future enshitification. But all without AI. 'Yay' I guess?"
