Once upon a time, I helped draw a comic about the Haiyan typhoon in the Philippines - a volunteer work for the victims of the typhoon. The project was featured in some comic news websites even.
Sadly, the Indiegogo campaign organiser stiffed the pledgers and rabbited. The comic was not produced at all.

@harriorrihar @das_sofa @on_code Problem is that #cara doesn't allow comments by viewers i.e. non-contributors. No way I'm able to give a thumbs-up from time to time.
Lately I've been trying to be a part of the #fediverse , leaving aside the social networks of megalomaniac owners. But #mastodon had very bad luck with the Art. instance and I think that's one of the reasons why graphic art hasn't populated the fediverse. How nice it would be if an initiative like #Cara was here too.

Wow, thank you to all of my new followers and special thanks to @kenSwinson for the warm welcome to Mastodon. I built up over 50k followers on Instagram over the course of a decade and have become disgruntled that I can’t access those users due to the algorithm. I’m ready for the future of decentralized platforms. I hope more artists and craftspeople join us here. I also use #Cara.
I just made a small donation to #cara, a small #Artstation like platform with a strong anti #genAI stance. If, like me, you think that genAI is a blight on human souls, you can buy 'em a coffee here! 
I wonder, are there any nice #Art #portfolio sites out there that people recommend for 2025?
#CaraApp / #Cara was on my radar for two years but wouldn't have fit some of my old art (they also felt like they were only looking for professionals back then) - with semi starting over they could be interesting tho.

How an art community for artists can survive, despite working towards making artists obsolete in favour of low-quality genAI, is a mystery to me.
