While I'm taking my time eating a late lunch, I'm going back to editing Spanner In The Works. I've already finished the final edit on Chapter 8, so that Sia now invokes "ACAB" in the COPCO detectives' faces. Specifically, she says all Jihadi terrorists are police -- morality police sent out to punish the infidel world for lack of unconditional surrender to the Caliphate. That's why "Radical Islamic Terror" appeals so strongly to reactionary/racist cops.
#Spanner #AmEditing update cont.: I decided to finally deal with Spanner In The Works chapter 3, specifically the final section. The Liberators, the villainous superhero team, are planning something big (the climactic sacrifice rite which will be fatally disrupted when Spanner throws his namesake monkeywrench). The question is, who's the rite aimed against? The rivals to their Superhumanist faction, the Radical Futurist oligarchs. /2
As such, I'm going to have to change who owns the "Metal Guitar of Evil", a cursed heavy metal guitar possessed by the evil ghost of Charles Manson and coveted by many a villain. The billionaire vulture capitalist Steve "the Fist" Fontaine, least heroic of the "superhero" villains the Liberators, owns it. The gangster Boris Slutsky wants to steal it for his own coup attempt against the Liberators. Now to edit all this into Spanner In The Works chapter 3.
Spanner In The Works chapter 3 now finished. I finally found room to establish the Liberators' and their Superhumanist faction's rivalry with the billionaire eugenicists of the Radical Futurist faction. How are the Superhumanists going to take permanent advantage in their rivalry? By superhumanizing 10K Radical Futurist defectors. To do that they intend to sacrifice 100K Jihadi invaders -- and one female Factor-positive newtype. This will prove their weak point.
While I'm trying to decide which chapter to edit next, I'm just going to mention this little piece of trivia I've never publicly revealed before. Chaos Angel Spanner, I've said before, is pretty much openly a #WoldNewton story. Read deeper, especially around the enmity between "Dragonite" hereditary vampires and "Factor-Positives", and you'll see it's also a #SimeGen story too, at least in direct influence.
And finally I've found the place to put Sia's full rant against the American racial caste system. It's in her mid-Chapter 13 comparison of the "ideal" America her mother the overthrown Last President stands for and the "real" one that's a racial caste system now ruthlessly enforced by the Russian knout. In the chapter context it also explains the "Eugenics Police" our heroines just killed.
