New instance, new introduction!
I'm a late (mostly self) diagnosed autistic in recovery from autistic burnout. In spring 2024 I left a career at Apple Retail and have been finding myself since. I'm deeply passionate about and experienced with Apple tech. I also love Sci-Fi and Fantasy, mostly TV and movies these days. I'm a gamer, mostly playing on Mac, iPad, and Switch. I was once a software engineer and still pursue it as a hobby, mostly developing small projects for the Apple ecosystem in Swift.
I am really enjoying the Shapez game. Its relaxing and reminds me of old logic puzzle games.
Is it time for #shapez2 yet ?
Got a conveyer built long enough that it takes five minutes for the "delivered" graph to catch up with the "produced" graph.
The #Shapez achievement is "I need trains" which yeah I can see that.
(played the Shapez2 demo yesterday and that had me itching for time with the old-school-but-finished version)
Prototyping a factory automation game with #clojurescript just to see if I can actually make something fun.
Also largely thinking of #shapez.io and #factorio as I tinker with this.
This little video shows some basic working things like belts (grey) and grabbers (blue).
I need to come up with elements to make this actually fun and challenging. I need a goal product and interesting resources as well as more machine mechanics. Lots to think about and prototype, but this is an exciting step!
I needed a brain-off distraction after this morning's calamity. Enter #shapez
This is my new comfort food.
Next, I played #WordFactori, which originally saw the light of day as an entry for the #GMTKJam 2021 and is now fleshed out into a full game. If you like managing and optimizing supply chains in games like #shapez, #OpusMagnum or #Factorio, you’ll probably have your fair share of fun with this. That being said, the main gimmick (you’re crafting letters of the alphabet) doesn’t shake things up enough for me to warrant a recommendation over any of the aforementioned titles.
@kaffeeringe auf jeden Fall. Und wer #satisfactory spielt kann auch gleich mal #shapez.io ausprobieren. Und für echte diskrete Materialflusssimulation in echten Fabriken gibt's dann noch #jaamsim. #production control, #shopfloor Management, #Industrial Engineering, anyone?
As for current video games (Follow up to the introduction post) :
#Splatoon3
#Persona
#Shapez
#Crosscode
#DDLC
#OneStepFromEden
#Deltarune
#Celeste
& more.
Sure, I'm probably not going to post on most of them, but these are games I am currently following the hashtag of
Huh, so Shapez 2 is apparently gonna be a thing:
I do think the original game already kinda peaked when it comes to the concept, but who knows
