LA County CJIC: Property Tax Relief for Wildfire Survivors
Homeowners affected by the wildfires may qualify for the Misfortune & Calamity Program which can lower property taxes for homes with $10,000 or more in damages (including smoke damage). Applications must be filed within 12 months of the fire. All relief services from the Assessor’s Office are free.

The County and City of Los Angeles and partners have launched the new LA Region Worker Relief Fund that helps workers impacted financially by the windstorm and wildfires by providing cash assistance grants of $2,000.
Applications open February 6, 2025 at 8am through the newly extended

The LA County Department of Economic Opportunity and Pilipino Workers Center will host a worker relief fund assistance event, Saturday, Feb 22, from 1p.m. to 4pm at the Pilipino Workers Center: San Fernando Valley office: 8237 Sepulveda Place, Unit 2, Panorama City, 91402.
The Department of Consumer and Business Affairs is launching the LA County Household Relief Grant program for victims of the Eaton and Palisades fires. The online application opens Feb. 26 and closes March 12, 2025.

Eligible households can receive up to $18,000 based on household size and composition. The relief fund will distribute $32.2 million in financial assistance to wildfire survivors for housing costs, living expenses and funeral costs. Priority will be given to the most impacted households based on need, including insurance status, social and economic vulnerability, loss of life, health conditions, and other risk factors.
