Some odd #artpop for a mini lunchtime spin.

Frank Chickens were a #japanese duo who were formed in London. Since then, many more members have joined, &they’re a kind of art-pop performance troupe.

Blue Canary is definitely a vibe, as is the instrumental B-side. They’re both on YouTube, so I’ll let you find out for yourself, but before you do, you may want to take a few bong hits first.

Noel Scott Engel—aka Walker—was an enigma who went on to create increasingly experimental and challenging music. He was an inspiration to countless artists including David Bowie, Yorke, Radiohead, Bauhaus, Anohni and us. I strongly suggest you listen to this along with his other solo work and Nite Flights by the Walker Brothers. The music could change your world.

2024 Vinyl Purchase Revisit 11/12

#NowPlaying: 'Field Music (Measure)' by Field Music (2009 - 2019 yellow and red vinyl).

Another one by this band and - for me - their definitive album. Wondrous music across two records. These guys can do more in three minutes than some bands manage on one side of vinyl.

We have a black turntable flanked by two black speakers on some white furniture with grey wallpaper behind. The playing record is yellow vinyl. On the right speaker are the words 'Now Playing' lit up in front of the record sleeve. The sleeve shows black empty music staves on a cream background. There is a spill of red, yellow and blue ink across the front and the band's name is in capital letters to the right.

Last spin of the night.
A blissful ending to an excruciatingly long and awful day.

A timeless album that will never get old, and would still sound cutting edge and otherworldly if somebody were to release it today.
But here’s the problem:
There isn’t a somebody around ANYWHERE today like Kate Bush.
Any there never will be again.
She is one of one.
