Tien jaar wordt er gestreden voor een openbaar toilet in Soest.

Toen ik in april 2014 in Praag was, was ik blij verrast, want elke keer als de gedachte op kwam, ik moet zo plassen, waar zou dat kunnen, zag ik een bordje met verwijzing naar een toilet 😃 En die waren schoon, met wc papier, met zeep!

Ik support toiletten mits ze schoon zijn, want aan vieze openbare toiletten hebben we niks, als je moet zitten om je menstruatie te verschonen oa.
De medewerkers die de toilet schoon houden moeten een top salaris krijgen 💰
Graag meteen ook hangertje zodat je je spullen niet op de toiletvloer hoeft te zetten.

The weakness of #ATProto isn’t at the instance level.

In fact, running an AT protocol “instance”—or rather, a #PDS—could actually be more affordable than running an #ActivityPub-enabled service. This is because a PDS is decoupled from relays and the firehose, whereas #Mastodon or #Pixelfed servers, for example, are not.

There are benefits and drawbacks to both approaches. To put it succinctly, #Bluesky is based on microservices, whereas Mastodon relies on macroservices.

Personally, I prefer the macroservice approach because I like my server to handle most of what I need it to do.

With great money comes great incentives to do bad things. The point here is, why should a user potentially go through the same busted experience they had with Twitter on a potentially busted 2nd Bluesky instance? @eblu True, but the additional problem with #Bluesky is that the #PDS is decoupled from the firehose.

In reality, it’s unlikely anyone will run a firehouse without lots of investment capital.

Whereas, right here on my server, I’m connected to almost every node on the Fediverse—with the exception of those I deliberately defederated.
