Apparently Let's Encrypt is/was at risk of losing a substantial amount of funding from opentech.fund (OTF). Other projects like Tor are/were also hit by these policy changes from the Trump administration. BUT, OTF fought back and seems to be OK:

"Wir [...] treiben #Open #Source [...] gezielt voran. Dafür richten wir unser IT-Budget strategisch aus [entweder „und definieren ambitionierte Zielmarken“ oder „bis 2029 einen Open Source Anteil von 50% zu erreichen“]."

Kann ich da irgendwo voten dafür, dass am Ende die Formulierung „bis 2029 einen Open Source Anteil von 50% zu erreichen“ reinkommt?

Every time I see some normie exclaiming "Oh the Internet is dead", I can't help but think of #foss. Open source has never been better (wayland's actually usable for Torvald's sake!) and we must continue enlighten people and cleanse them of proprietary software.
