Honestly? I get that the printer industry is becoming more and more niche but I think part of that is people are sick of dealing with #HP #Lexmark #Dell BS when it comes to figuring out how they can wring more money out of people by putting DRM in carts and making the repair process unnecessarily complex. I did HP, Lexmark, and Dell printer repairs and to replace some parts on those systems legit required HOURS just to get to that part as it is all nested crap.
If your engineers could take a crack at decreasing the complexity to repair it would go a long way towards getting people to actually be interested in printers again.

I just ordered the New Model M keyboard from #Unicomp Inc. a couple of day ago, but now I'm thinking I may have jumped the gun. People in the know are saying that the original #IBM Model Ms were developed to cut down on cost compared to the previous #ModelF keyboards. Corners were cut - everything from changing the frame from metal to plastic and simplifying the buckling spring mechanics of the keys, sacrificing durability and losing the "right click sound". Unicomp is churning out Ms on an old production line they took over from #Lexmark and keeping units at around $125. At the other end of the scale, Joe Strandberg of #ModelFLabs has started up a brand new production line for his Model F clones. At $399 it's more than three times the price of the Unicomp New #ModelM, and while I realize it's damned close to religion, I'm also very very intrigued. I'll let you know if this is going to happen.
