Absolutely dirty move by Farfus blocking the leader into damaging his car to help their teammate in 2nd catch up to him, ultimately forcing them to pit to fix damaged sheet metal and rear light. Absolutely glad they got hit with a penalty, but I'm gonna be pretty pissed if their team car wins this race now.

I had wanted to see the sun come up at Daytona, but I woke up in the middle of the night from a rough nightmare/anxiety dream and was like "I might need another hour" than the 6 I had planned so I set my alarm for 7 AM instead of 6. Nonetheless, I am very happy to catch a solid chunk of the end of the #Rolex24, it'll be something like 6 hours and 45 minutes straight for my final stint after watching until midnight last night.

Alright, I see ya NBC, they are doubling down on bringing in sports car legends to do some booth stints. Now they got Ollie Gavin, who I watched for a long time though I was more a Grand Am fan than American Le Mans Series before the merger under #IMSA

Like Tom Kristensen, Gavin didn't have a great deal of success at Daytona (a Grand Am event in much of his career) but dude is high on the list of all time class wins in Le Mans, Sebring, and Petit Le Mans and had 5 ALMS titles.

Tom Kristensen usually does his annual IMSA check in via Zoom during the 12 Hours of Sebring, so it is an exciting little treat that they are bringing him into booth for a full, announced 45 mins to an hour. Tom is obviously one of the greatest endurance sports car drivers to ever do it, so his insight into the art and his many colorful stories in his career are welcome.

To make it through watching most of a 24 hour race, you gotta know how to take a semi-break from time to time like hitting the mute button to listen to some music while watching the racing action. Currently got The Band (Brown Album) by The Band cued up on YouTube Music as I stay transfixed by sports cars on the high banks.

I'm an absolute sucker for people doing TV duty on an endurance racing broadcast in their driving suit cause they have to hop in the car not long after their stint as a color commentator. We have THREE who will do that on this broadcast in Hinchcliffe, Bell, and Kligerman.

I remember watching my first #Rolex24 or at least what Speed Channel was willing to put on TV in 2002, and I remember the first time in the early 10s I believe where internet streaming had come far enough that I could watch all 24 hours through a limited camera overnight feed on my computer and IMSA Radio commentary.

It has long been one of my absolute favorite days of the year and although my sleepy ass can't handle the full 24 hours anymore I always do a minimum of 16, aiming for 18. #IMSA
