We will look how to identify Japanese cherries and fruit trees, as well as recording the pollinator species using blossom in the park. In January 2021 Russell designed and delivered a large planting scheme of 44 cherry trees as part of a national Sakura Cherry Tree Project (following a major Heritage Lottery Fund refurbishment of buildings in Springfield Park). Previously Russell helped create and managed the community orchard in the park and ran a 5 year restoration to save its old Pear tree.
