I'm already an emotional wreck. I try to keep thinking positive, to keep focus on the good times that we may still be able to share...
But that little voice in the back of my head keeps telling me that "this may be the last time that...". And I *know* I should not go there... But I'm just so scared of losing her... 💔

And now, slowly, some support is coming in. :ablobcatheartsqueeze: and every notification brings me to tears... :moomin_sad: partially sad tears because I know the time is running out... Also, partially happy tears , because people care for me and Arwen. People think we're important enough to get this support... However sad the reasons may be...

I can never thank you with my words. I feel they will always be insufficient... If that makes sense...

But we're at €290/€400 now, and it means that I, hopefully, will be able to bring her back home, after her soul has crossed the 🌈 bridge...

As I mentioned in the update on GoFundMe, it would be amazing is we could raise enough to also make a start for the costs for the ash-pendant. But... Getting her the private cremation and urn, and taking her home, those will be most pressing, once she's passed... When I've got the ashes, I can save for the ash-pendant to wear her close to my heart forever....

An update has just been posted to Liz Cullinane's #gofundme appeal on our behalf.

It has taken five months and the generosity of all our friends and supporters here but Wrack will, finally, be lifted out of the water in Almerimar, on Monday, 21st April, to spend a week ashore for repairs, routine maintenance, and antifouling.

Barring unpleasant surprises, she'll be re-floated on 29th April. All my wife and I will need to do then is take on provisions and around 80 litres of fuel and 120 litres of water, then sail a couple of short, ’shake-down' passages north-eastwards along the Spanish coast, before pointing Wrack’s bow eastwards into deeper waters and a long, non-step leg across the entire western Mediterranean, towards the Aegean.

Thank you, everyone, for having donated (many more than once) over the last couple of months, and over the last few years. We are now *this* close. to being able to untether not just from the shore but also from years of humbling reliance on this community.

"Hello my name is Zeus Borrego and I am a 12th Grade AP Computer Science Teacher in the Rio Grande Valley. Unfortunately I was caught in the flooding that happened on March 27th 2025 and my car was severely damaged. I’m raising funds to help cover emergency car repairs and basic living expenses while I recover financially. Due to the flooding my car now has several issues with the airbags, electronics, and safety systems. I’ve already spent $120 on a new airbag module, and repairs are estimated to cost ~$2,000.

On top of this, I need support covering essential bills while my car is being repaired. My portion of rent and utilities, groceries, car insurance, car payment, and credit card minimums come to about $2,000 per month. I’m aiming to raise enough to cover these costs for 2 months while I get back on my feet."
