A small #bird with a big #fish.
This #LittleGrebe somehow managed to catch a #Rudd in the Limestone lake at #WWTCastleEspie but, no matter how much it tried, it couldn’t manoeuvre it into a position to swallow it.
It was fun watching it try, though.

Apparently this is called Rosecomb mutation - when the gills become visible in an upside down structure above the fungal cap - but I reckon it’s a very small swan on a very small mushroom ‍
