@neanderthalsnavel Eh, that’s not the problem with #CaptainAmericaBraveNewWorld. The real problem with that movie is that #SamWilson just does the easy thing with zero consequences. In #CaptainAmericaTheFirstAvenger, #SteveRogers makes the difficult decision to down the plane and forgo a life with #SharonCarter. In #CaptainAmericaTheWinterSoldier, he chooses to go against #SHIELD despite the fact that it has federal backing, because what they are doing is wrong. In #CaptainAmericaCivilWar, he decides to go against not just the #USA but other #Avengers, many of whom are his close friends, because they are opposing the freedom of others who wish to do good in the world.

In #CaptainAmericaBraveNewWorld, the toughest decision #SamWilson has before him is to fight the #POTUS, but it’s like, either that or watch the #USA burn to the ground, and #ThunderboltRoss didn’t indicate at all that he wouldn’t have wanted him to fight #RedHulk if he had to.

Yeah, that final resolution between Hulk and Cap felt really unearned. I guess if Betty did it, it would look too much like Justice League's Lois talking down Superman.

Although I did like the depiction of Red Hulk as just Ross incensed at everything in his life publicly falling apart, especially when he catches sight of his own reflection, and then sort of coming to his senses realizing that his anger is not helping.

It's a strange depiction of redemption that Ford's President Ross tries to portray. The movie wants us to sympathize with him, but Ross tried to hide some really aweful things he's done.

It almost feels like Tim Blake Nelson's Dr Sterns had way more lines that made him sympathetic and justified that statement, "I'm the hero," that are sitting on an editing room somewhere.

Just left my local #AMC after watching #CaptainAmericaBraveNewWorld & I was not impressed.

Yeah, there were some good action/CGI scenes which was to be expected but the plot & the acting a left a lot to be desired.

In the end, the hero fights the big red guy (created by a disgruntled scientist) tooth & nail destroying everything in their path & then calms the big red guy down by reminding him about cherry blossoms?

Yeah right!!! 🤦‍♂️

I'd give the movie a 4 out of 10.

I won't say I'm "done" w/MCU movies altogether but I'm done w/the #CaptainAmerican series which ended for me with the trilogy of #TheFirstAvenger (2011), #WinterSoldier (2014) & #CivilWar (2016) with Steve Rogers as Captain America.

#BraveNewWorld starts a new series of Captain America movies with Sam Wilson who was given the mantle of Captain America by Steve Rogers (who apparently has "retired") but I'm not buying it.

BTW, I just saw trailers for 2 new MCU movies #Thunderbolts & #Fantastic4FirstSteps. I will NOT be watching those movies.

A well deserved opening weekend haul for #CaptainAmericaBraveNewWorld .

The movie avoided being an allegory for today’s politics (unlike Gladiator 2 which I also liked) which I imagine annoyed lefties who saw it as a squandered opportunity. Right wingers also hated it for showcasing a Black Captain America. Normal people loved it. 🤩
