So yesterday evening was a treat.
Little doggo needed to go to the vet for her second vaccine jab, but I had completely blanked and only remembered when my wife got home from work with the car. Thankfully I was ready to go because I’d forgotten to take my shoes off earlier in the day.
Cool, ok, little dog in the back of the car with my wife, big dog left in the house. Something of a look on his face, but we’ve got to go, and we’ll see him in about 90 minutes. Race to the vets at exactly the speed limit, mind you. Get there. My wife spots a friend in the waiting room. She’s here putting her dog to sleep. Oof! Her friend naturally leaves in tears. We get into the consult room the new vet. He’s just lovely. Can’t help noticing the freshly cleaned, damp table surface and stray hair from the unfortunate previous occupant of the room.
Dana gets her jab and we’re good to go. She makes a lot of noise in the car and pukes in the back seat, narrowly missing my wife’s jumper, but scoring a direct hit to the seatbelt buckles. Nice.
We get home and are trying to clean the back of the car and get dinner started when I notice that the entirety of the length of the hall is swimming with pools of liquid. Yellow liquid. I look at the boy, Mulder.
The poor guy had been busting for a piss before we left, but I was too scattered to take in his communication. He must have been so upset to have peed indoors. He hasn’t had an accident since he was a puppy and he’s six, now. Ugh. Out with the mop and bucket. There is so much pee!
Dogs were fed and cuddled. Dinner was late.
