We have a couple of changes to announce regarding the payment methods available to donors on Liberapay.
The good news is that card payments can now be processed through France's “Cartes Bancaires” network.
The bad news is that direct debits of Euro bank accounts are now only supported when the donation recipient is in one of the 32 European countries supported by Stripe. The page https://liberapay.com/about/global has been improved to reflect the limitations of non-European Stripe accounts.
@Liberapay I'm trying to renew a donation but the euro option is grayed out (only creditcard and paypal work).
Is this because of that?
i'm only trying to donate to one account.
@thibaultmol No. The problem is that your donation is in US dollars. You can go to https://liberapay.com/MakerTube/donate to change its currency to the Euro, then you should be able to pay by direct debit.
(The text displayed when direct debit can't be used because of the recipient's location is “Only for donations to SEPA countries”.)
@Liberapay OOOh ok. Hadn't really understood that's what "euro donations only" meant
thx
@Liberapay@mastodon.xyz Damn, Israelis can only donate via PayPal?
@mikwee No. They can only *receive* donations via PayPal.
