The <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/Schans?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Schans</a> of <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/Lauwershoek?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Lauwershoek</a> is a schans (literally translated: ramp or skijump) that is part of the <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/Enceinte?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Enceinte</a> of <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/Antwerp?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Antwerp</a>, a ring of fortifications around the city. Situated about 10km from the river <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/Scheldt?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Scheldt</a>, the Schans of Lauwershoek and <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/Landmolen?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Landmolen</a> were built as an extra protection for the forts of Steendorp and Haasdonk. PentaxkeHet Sanatorium Joseph Lemaire is een vroeger sanatorium gelegen in een natuurgebied inTombeek (Overijse) waar gedurende 30 jaar TBC patiënten werden verzorgd. Later werd het een revalidatiecentrum voor langdurig zieken. Het gebouw, ontworpen door architect Maxime Brunfaut, rekent men tot het modernisme. In 1987 kwam het leeg te staan en het heeft bijna 30 jaar geduurd tot het volledig gerenoveerd werd. PentaxkeLet's call this legal urbex. The Commandobunker Kemmel is a place 3 stories underground built during the cold war. From here, the Belgian military monitored the Eastern Block. After the fall of the Berlin Wall it became useless and for 20 years or so it stood empty.
