SoonLeeNZ<p>Explorer are doing a 25% off deal until the end of May. Went to Waiheke, Man O' War Vineyard for a winetasting &amp; lunch. Then a side trek to the Waiheke Distilling Company for a gin tasting. Was a glorious day for an island excursion. <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/Auckland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Auckland</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/TamakiMakaurau" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TamakiMakaurau</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/Waiheke" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Waiheke</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/nzwine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nzwine</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/somethingBeautiful" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>somethingBeautiful</span></a> <a href="https://www.exploregroup.co.nz/auckland/man-o-war/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">exploregroup.co.nz/auckland/ma</span><span class="invisible">n-o-war/</span></a></p>

SoonLeeNZ<p>Opened a Te Mata Awatea 2010 tonight which is drinking beautifully. It's 13 years old. It wouldn't have been anywhere near as nice had I opened it in 2011... The cork broke though, which is another whole conversation. <br> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/wine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>wine</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/nzwine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nzwine</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/wineHistory" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>wineHistory</span></a></p>
SoonLeeNZ<p>Does anyone have any idea when the concept of cellaring came about? The idea that we should keep this wine for e.g. five years before we drink it, because it will be so much better if we wait?</p><p>We've been cellaring wines for centuries but when was the first time we decided that this year's wines are not yet ready to drink? That we should wait a number of years before we drink it? </p><p><a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/wine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>wine</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/nzwine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nzwine</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/wineHistory" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>wineHistory</span></a></p>
Jonathan Harker<p>Unfashionable as it is to like Merlot these days when we're all swimming in mediocre Pinot Noir, here's the extremely scrumptious Saint Clair 2019 Rapaura Reserve Merlot, one of the few in NZ not from Waiheke Island or the Hawke's Bay. Grab it while there's some left, recommend AAAAA++++ would smash again. Great with food, beef and lamb, or whatever you fancy really...<br><a href="https://cloudisland.nz/tags/nzwine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nzwine</span></a> <a href="https://cloudisland.nz/tags/merlot" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>merlot</span></a> <a href="https://cloudisland.nz/tags/marlborough" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>marlborough</span></a></p>
