Dan McCullough
Our maple syrup season has ended. We tapped our tree on Feb 22, which was a month later than normal. This winter in Massachusetts was consistently below 38° which is not ideal for sap flow.

We harvested 28 liters of sap which after boiling down, gave us a little over a pint of syrup. This really drives home why it’s so expensive!

Sap Totals:
2025 February 22 - March 23 = 28 liters
2024 February 1 - March 17 = 30 liters
2023 January 22 - March 12 = 36 liters

#MapleSugaringMonday #MapleSyrup

Isaac
Is this the last boil of the season? I'm tired. Peepers are singing, so the end is very near. #maplesyrup #wsmaple

Isaac
I was propositioned by an old lady today.

While emptying a sap tank, a car pulled up. Old lady rolled down her windows and asked "Can I ask you a question?"

"Sure!" I replied and walked closer.

She then says "You can tap my trees."

Thankfully, it wasn't a euphemism and she was just a neighbor who would be OK with me making syrup from her trees too.

So, I'll bring her some of this year's #maplesyrup and check out her property. Isaac
My little #maplesyrup operation has made it past the 1000 gallons of sap mark. Long night boiling tonight. Not a great season, and the forecast is looking poor enough that it won't improve it a ton. Started a bit late and took a while to get going due to frost in the ground. We'll keep plugging along as best we can though. Making something good of this world.
