Frank AdlerThe Heart Nebula<br> =============<br> <br> For some reason, I keep coming back to this object. I just love all of those fine details in the heart nebula and it's neighbour, the fish head nebula.<br> <br> In the center of the heart nebula, there's a small open cluster of stars, called Melotte 15. These stars are responsible for the ionization of the surrounding gas, making it glow in the characteristic red hue of hydrogen alpha emissions.<br> <br> The fish head nebula, also known as IC 1795, is a bright emission nebula, located in the same star-forming region as the heart nebula. It's a bit fainter than its neighbour, but still shows a lot of fine details.<br> <br> Scope: Askar 103APO<br> Lens: Askar 0.6x Reducer<br> Camera: Canon EOS 6Da<br> Filter: Antlia TriBand RGB Ultra<br> Mount: Skywatcher AZ-EQ5 GT<br> Guiding: Svbony SV165 Guide Scope with ZWO ASI 224MC<br> Controller: ZWO ASIAir Pro<br> <br> Integration time: 7hrs 55min<br> <br> Full version and print available at: <a href="https://adfr.io/astro/20250305_ic1805" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://adfr.io/astro/20250305_ic1805</a><br> <br> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/astrophotography?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#astrophotography</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/astrophoto?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#astrophoto</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/astrophotographer?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#astrophotographer</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/deepsky?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#deepsky</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/deepskyphotography?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#deepskyphotography</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/deepskyobject?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#deepskyobject</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/deepskyastrophotography?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#deepskyastrophotography</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/heartnebula?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#heartnebula</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/fishheadnebula?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#fishheadnebula</a>
earthling<p>IC 1795: The Fishhead Nebula</p><p>To some, this nebula looks like the head of a fish. However, this colorful cosmic portrait really features glowing gas and obscuring dust clouds in IC 1795, a star forming region in the northern constellation Cassiopeia. The nebula's colors were created by adopting the Hubble color palette.</p><p>Image Credit &amp; Copyright: Roberto Colombari &amp; Mauro Narduzzi</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/astrophotography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>astrophotography</span></a> <br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/APOD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>APOD</span></a><br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/nebula" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nebula</span></a> <br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/FishheadNebula" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FishheadNebula</span></a> <br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/IC1795" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>IC1795</span></a></p>

It is an active star-forming area about 6000 light years away. The <a href="https://geekdom.social/tags/HeartNebula" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HeartNebula</span></a> is an emission nebula 7500 light years from Earth. This is my favorite target so far and I look forward to capturing more (better) data . Darren Carver<p>Out again tonight, gathering <a href="https://astrodon.social/tags/Oiii" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Oiii</span></a> data on <a href="https://astrodon.social/tags/IC1795" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>IC1795</span></a> <a href="https://astrodon.social/tags/FishHeadNebula" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FishHeadNebula</span></a> to add to last night’s <a href="https://astrodon.social/tags/Ha" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Ha</span></a> data. Hoping for another clear night soon to get the <a href="https://astrodon.social/tags/Sii" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Sii</span></a> data <a href="https://astrodon.social/tags/astrophotography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>astrophotography</span></a></p>
Darren Carver<p>Looking pretty clear out!
