astroPug<p>I’m just a little noob, and I’ve been curious always what this veilid thing is that I kept hearing about!</p><p>Well.</p><p>There is a handy explainer on the top of this page: <a href="https://veilid.com/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">veilid.com/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>So, noob me understands this: many little nodes (could be me one day) kind of similar to tor, but not, and you can build, say, a MySpace-like application on it. </p><p>But the beauty is that your “likeMySpace” profile will not be living on some corporate host server, or gov server. And neither does anyone else’s “likeMySpace” profile. So with only nodes and no go-between, we can have privacy and I’m actually kind of excited about this. </p><p>Feel free to correct me but that’s what I’m understanding and if so, that sounds amazing.</p><p><a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/veilid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>veilid</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/iMissOldMySpace" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>iMissOldMySpace</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/privacy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>privacy</span></a></p>
