hollow-one<a href="https://mastodon.social/@TechJournalist" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@TechJournalist</a> to me, it’s not surprising that <a href="https://mas.erb.pw/tags/StackOverflow" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#StackOverflow</a> is criticizing the <a href="https://mas.erb.pw/tags/AI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#AI</a>. last thing I’d expect is that they sponsor research which is trying to find something good in AI. From my positive looking angle, I can say all depends on the way dev works with AI. I don’t trust agents for example, not that they are 100% faulty, more about inability to assess fixed cost of using them today. It’s much easier with $23 <a href="https://mas.erb.pw/tags/chatgpt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#chatgpt</a> and prompts, treated as asking for advisory and samples, then reviewed and copy and pasted as fragments, carefully managing context. That works flawlessly with experienced developers who just lack patience of typing the whole boring thing, end to end. And lacking good answers for good questions, blocking them occasionally. Extreme productivity boost.And It’s exactly the same approach copy and paste worked with Stack Overflow years ago and my trust to SO was and continually is lower than to best LMMs currently available. SO was always full of noise beyond any halucination level AI is impacted by, today.
