Import such that at the call-site you say `module.identifier()`.On the one side (the side that disagrees with you), my IDE typically tells me where naked `identifier` is defined (either <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/PyCharm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#PyCharm</a> or <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/HelixEditor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#HelixEditor</a> in my case); and it’s the most common case in <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/Python" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Python</a> code I have read (and I’ve been programming in Python for decades).On the other side you’re not always hovering as you read over big blocks of code. Naming the origin module is informative.In the middle, it’s not needed for a lot of things, especially stdlib and common packages. It seems like a fine line and I’m not quite certain what the best behavior is.

It seems to be writing my app for me.

I start to type the name of a method or a variable.. and it will spit out a burp of code that is exactly what i was about to do.I have noticed that this is really strong with <a href="https://social.sixdegreesofohio.com/tags/PyCharm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#PyCharm</a> .. Why does it even offer a locallly installed <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Python" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Python</a> interpreter to use? With uv, it would be best, to just pick the version you want to use and let uv download the desired version. Personally, I think, if I use uv, I would also go all in with it. Or least offer the option to users like me. PyCharm still doesn't offer to download and install Python 3.13.

It took me some time to fully appreciate it and also adopt some of the (at first) stranger UX decisions. Now I think it was the best investment I did in this area.
