TRT World has observed a minute of silence on air in honour of our fellow journalists and those working across all media who have been killed by the Israeli military in Gaza.

On Monday, another Palestinian journalist was killed, and nine others were wounded, some critically, when an Israeli airstrike hit a tent used by local media in southern Gaza.

This brings the total death toll of media personnel killed on duty in Gaza to 210.

Israeli PM Netanyahu acted like a “crime lord” while dismissing Shin Bet Chief Ronen Bar, opposition leader Yair Lapid said .

Former Shin Bet chief, Yoram Cohen, told Army Radio that Netanyahu had asked to disqualify former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett from Israel’s Security Cabinet.

“Netanyahu tried to use the Shin Bet to plot and eliminate a political opponent,” Lapid said on X, calling Cohen’s interview with Army Radio an “earthquake.”

Israeli PM Netanyahu has been lobbying US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to block the sale of F-35 warplanes to Turkey, citing concerns over Ankara’s growing influence in Syria, three sources, including two senior western officials, told MEE.

Netanyahu raised the F-35 issue during multiple calls with Rubio, the two western officials said. A third source familiar with the matter confirmed that Netanyahu had pressed Rubio on the arms sale.

Abed Shaat drifted off to sleep on Sunday night, exhausted after covering Israeli air strikes all day.

The 33-year-old freelance photographer had returned to a tent in front of Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis in southern Gaza where he’d been based along with other journalists since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza.

The tent belonged to the TV station Palestine Today.

Outrage is growing over Israel’s killing of 15 Palestinian medics and rescue workers north of the Gazan city of Rafah in the predawn hours of March 23.

Many of them were actually found with their hands and their feet bound. And several of them were found with more than 20 gunshot wounds to the head and to the chest.
