Es gibt Leute, denen mag ich da einfach nicht widersprechen. Ganz sicher eines der besten Cop-Movies der Kinogeschichte. Alle, wirklich alle, die danach gekommen sind, mussten sich daran messen lassen. (ARD)

In fast 50 Jahren hat er allerdings nichts von seinem Eindruck auf mich eingebüßt. Ein richtig harter Thriller. Ein großartiger New-York-City-Film, der sich lange in ihrem Unterbewusstsein einnisten wird. Joggen gehen ist vermutlich eine gute Therapie. Zum Zahnarzt gehen Sie danach aber freiwillig nie wieder. Tatsächlich ist er ein Höhepunkt des „New Hollywood“ und einer der wohl besten Filme Coppolas überhaupt. (ARTE)

Als Filme noch Handwerk von echten Menschen waren. Sydney Pollack war einer der größten Handwerker des 70er Jahre Kinos und Robert Redford war sein Star. Dieser Film steht exemplarisch für ihre grandiose Zusammenarbeit und eine andere Zeit.

Während ich für die Mondlandung(en) noch zu jung war, um mich zu erinnern, habe ich den Thriller von Peter Hyams nie vergessen. Auch weil Elliott Gould hier den Prototypen eines Investigativjournalisten gibt, der den Fake der US-Regierung auffliegen lässt…
