Filipi LimiEl 12 de octubre, tradicionalmente conocido como el "Día de la Raza" en muchos países, ha sido resignificado en América Latina como el Día de la Resistencia Indígena. Este cambio refleja una crítica profunda al relato colonial que celebraba el "descubrimiento" de América por Cristóbal Colón y la consecuente colonización.Lejos de representar un encuentro pacífico de culturas, el 12 de octubre marca el inicio de siglos de violencia, opresión, despojo de tierras y genocidio para los pueblos indígenas. La colonización trajo consigo la imposición de sistemas de dominación política, económica y religiosa que siguen afectando a las comunidades originarias hoy en día.Al resignificar esta fecha, los pueblos indígenas reivindican su historia, resistencia y luchas actuales por la autodeterminación, el reconocimiento de sus territorios ancestrales y la preservación de sus saberes, lenguas y culturas.
