ARadioGurl<p>Almost done working on this 1940s Philco chassis. Most of the original capacitors were no longer in tolerance, some were starting to fail, those are all replaced. Resistors were checked and all are in spec. Next is the power on test, voltage checks, and if all is good, alignment. <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/antiqueradio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>antiqueradio</span></a></p>

Model is <a href="https://recordplug.club/tags/H845" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>H845</span></a> - top of the line for its day in the 1960s. So far, tested some <a href="https://recordplug.club/tags/tubes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tubes</span></a> and replaced 3 bad ones, though I might replace them all to ensure it continues working for a while since it's for a friend and I also bought a whole set of <a href="https://recordplug.club/tags/NOStubes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NOStubes</span></a> from Bob Dobush's site: www.findatube.com -- highly recommend for <a href="https://recordplug.club/tags/vacuumtubes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vacuumtubes</span></a></p>
ARadioGurl<p>When I say that this American-Bosch model 66 is large, I mean half the size of a large console radio from ten years later. It would’ve had a dedicated table, probably with a speaker built in, plus storage for the batteries. <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/AntiqueRadio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AntiqueRadio</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/AntiqueRadios" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AntiqueRadios</span></a></p>
ARadioGurl<p>The Zenith is almost complete. Circuit is tweaked to bring voltages down to mid-1930s levels and aux-in is working. Necessary bushings replaced to align the tuner within the dial and chassis in the cabinet. Still needs a few minor things, but looks great, sounds wonderful. <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/ZenithRadio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ZenithRadio</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/AntiqueRadio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AntiqueRadio</span></a></p>
ARadioGurl<p>Close to finishing up the big Zenith console. It’s playing great and pulling in AM without issue. Some voltages are a bit high, tweaking the circuit to correct those and also reduce the AC line-in. This set was designed for 117VAC, it runs warm on modern 125VAC. <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/AntiqueRadio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AntiqueRadio</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Zenith" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Zenith</span></a></p>
